For Germany, 2020 was a banner year in the production of renewable energy. Clean energy sources — wind farms and solar arrays as well as hydroelectric and biogas plants — drove their share of power consumption up to 46 percent, nearly equaling that of coal, gas, oil, and nuclear power combined!

Germany is big on changing its entire energy infrastructure to a clean and renewable one. Starting with owning the largest photovoltaic installed capacity to being called the first “major renewable energy economy”. Nearly half of all electricity consumption is fulfilled by renewable energy sources. Moreover, over 300,000 people currently work in the German renewable energy sector.

There’s an ongoing demand for renewable energy engineers in Germany, as the government plans to shut down all the nuclear power plants by 2022.

Salary Expectations:

Renewable energy engineers are paid a very decent salary of €30,000 per annum for starters. Whereas, senior engineers may earn up to €70,000 or more. Though one must be open to working with a high degree of mobility.
